Zero Carbon System is the pioneer of low-carbon architectural designer and the solutions maker of overall low-carbon cities. The origin of the team dates back to 1999, when the team of architects and designers designed the first zero-energy-cost eco-village, known as the zero-energy-cost factory in Beddington, South London, England.

In 2010, Zero Carbon System designed and managed the London ZED Pavilion in Shanghai Expo 2010, which made it the first architecture and planning firm who did all the tasks including fund raising, building design, construction, set-up exhibition and even the final operation all by themselves in World Expo history. Until now, Zero Carbon System has provided services of supporting projectforVanke, CAS, Tongzhou in Beijing, Boao in Shanghai and The Shanghai Disney.

In addition to building design and district planning, Zero Carbon System further sets up laboratory to develop the most advanced technology of energy saving and emission reduction. Zero Carbon System also develop two core project, the Solar Powered Stirling Engine and the carbon calculation of Chinese buildings and cities, independently, possessing many patented products like solar cap and quite a number of successful cases of low-carbon practices in many cities.

Zero Carbon System has been at the forefront of the low-carbon city planning and the field of low-carbon architectures in China. Meanwhile, ZED has established a perfect products carbon calibration system and achieved many of the country’s first by testing the emission of carbon dioxide in architecture and related field with the practical data which came from the carbon measurements and carbon calibration.

In 5th May 2010, Zero Carbon System convened hundreds of tycoons in industries of new energy, new material and other low-carbon related ones in China, and established the Zero Carbon Union. By resources sharing and exchange, Zero Carbon Union has successfully recommended tens of the member corporations to participate in several national low-carbon model projects.
